Only 4 men were allowed on the trip, our 2 captains, Yoyo and Yony, and 2 photographers, Peter Paul Porter and Paul Lang from the Kiteboarder Magasine. 16 women joined us on the trip and it was a blast.

Early morning we all loaded in the pongas and my little speedster and headed for the Island. 10 minutes into the trip Yony spotted 2 whales. The ladies all asked how I organized for the whales to be there . We followed them for a little while until they disappeared under water. Right away a pod of dolphins showed up and hung out with us. It was an awesome wild life show for almost an hour. What a treat, our photographers even got it all on camera. What a good way to start the day!

Then we headed to the Island and unloaded all the gear we had. Tonnes of North and Slingshot kites and boards. Lots for our girls to demo. Tim at Palapas Ventana hooked us up with a great lunch and we splitted the girls up into different clinics. How to ride, go upwind and some on advance tricks. Then we headed for the water. The wind was pretty light but still good to get out and have some fun. The day went by so fast, before we knew it it was time to go back. Some of the girls wanted to ride back across, with the light winds it was pretty challenging, nobody made it all the way to shore but all got picked up by the boats where beers ware waiting for them. Dd rode the party couch all the way back, what a trooper you can see her on the pictures holding on for dear life for the whole 11 miles crossing.

What an awesome day and it ended with Happy Hour at Baja Joe’s. The boys had set up an awesome bar for us with the best strawberry margaritas. Even if it was a girls day, the boys had a big part of it ! Thanks to Mark, Jonny and Robin for setting us up and everyone else that was involved with it. We raised $450 for the local schools.

We all had so much fun. Everyone wants to do it again.Next year, let’s double that, tell all your lady friends we will do it again for sure. Thanks Ladies for coming and being a part of it ! It was an experience that we will not forget.

All Day Girls Clinic at Isla Cerralvo With Marie-Christine Leclerc/Baja Joes/North and Laura Maher/Slingshot

Girls of all levels welcome ! Spend a day at Isla Cerralvo, the starting point of the 11.5 mile crossing. From trainer kite to riding unhooked we will help you improve your skills. At the end you can do the crossing and finish the day with Happy Hour at Baja Joe’s. Get tips from the pros and try out the new 2010 gear from Slingshot and North.

Cost is $100. Price includes boat transportation, food and drinks. Proceeds go the schools in La Ventana.

Wind is building up, another day of fun in La Ventana!

We also got a new sea doo boat so we can take more students and be comfortable. We are planning kiteboarding trips to Ceralvo Island and downwinders. Also we have the option of wakeboarding for the non windy days and to help our students improve thier board skills.

We are planning on being back at Nitinaht Lake for june. To get ready for another beautiful summer of kiting and teaching on the lake. Mark, Kristine, Robin, Kevin and I, the whole crew is going to be there. We are going to be teaching on North 2009Rebels. We have been using them all winter here in La Ventana and they work awesome. They have so much depower and low end. Really awesome kites, really forgiving, all our students loved them. All the best gear for you students

This summer we will be doing regular private lessons from june to september, every windy day of the summer. There is going to be assisted downwinders almost every weekends as they were getting really popular last season. And this year we are adding wakeboarding lessons on the non windy mornings to help everyone with board skills.
And also some gear Demos and rentals.
Lots of new stuff happening thie summer 2009.

We are also starting some trainer kite classes in Victoria a couple nights a week. Just to get everyone going early. To learn how to fly a trainer kite before your lessons will help tonnes and you will also save some time and money on the lessons. Kiteboarding is 90% kite flying and 10% board skills, so get on it now and get ready for the summer.
