End of the Season

Sunday fun day but also sad day
Today is our last day of the season. We are packing up the school for Nitinaht Summer 2010.
It is always a little sad to leave Nitinaht. It is so beautiful here and we just had an amazing summer full of wind and awesome friends.
Thanks everyone for coming and making our season so fun.

But leaving is also very exciting. We are getting ready for our road trip south and another beautiful season in La Ventana, Mexico.
Our first stop is going to be Hood River, Oregon for the AWSI (Association of Wind & Water Sports Industries) event.
It is a big demo for all schools and dealers to check out all the new 2011 gear.
We will be trying out all the new kites, boards and also see the new accessories from a bunch of different companies.
We will be picking out the new gear for our winter season so all our students will get to use all band new 2011 gear, always the latest and the best for our students.
Keep checking the blog for reports on the new gear.

We want to thank everyone for coming and making this summer so amazing. Come and see us at Baja Joe’s for some more kiting and beach time.

Nitinaht Windfest 2010!

Take a look at the Nitinaht Windfest 2010 Schedule at the bottom.

For all photography enthusiasts, don’t forget to bring your camera and laptop for the new photo contest this year. Give us about 10 of your best shots from the event before Saturday evening on a cd or memory stick. Photos will be displayed in a slideshow after dark on Saturday evening. The best photo will be published in The Kiteboarder magazine.

Also, if you’re looking for a quiet relaxing weekend……you might wanna go somewhere else

Feel free to dress up in anything but normal clothes for the saturday night party. Anyone dressed in normal clothing (especially sober people) can expect a constant barrage of random beratement coupled with tasteless profanity throughout the evening. There will be some sort of prize for best costume. Please note: no banana hammocks unless they have shoulder straps.

Bring a smile, bend your knees and DON’T SUCK! Any questions can be directed to someone else. If that fails, contact elevationkiteboarding@gmail.com. Also, please refrain from bringing glass bottles on the beach during the saturday night festivities. Regards,

3 day kiteboarding camp – June 16th to 18th

After so many comments from guys, we are putting together a mixed camp. This time it is not just for women but for everyone that would like to get a head start to their kiteboarding season. 3 full days of kiteboarding at Nitinaht Lake , Vancouver Island. All watercraft assisted.

From beginners to intermediate we invite you and your friends to join us.

The Distance with Assistance!

Our assisted downwinders have been so helpful for everyone after their kiteboarding lessons or people that can ride but not stay upwind.

Don’t want to do the walk of shame ? Come to Nitinaht and sign up with us for a kilometer downwinder all the way to the bottom of Nitinaht Lake. With watercraft assistance you have someone there for support and all the room to work on your board skills. For $55 if you have your own gear or rent ours for $80 per downwinder. The downwinder lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours. Ride with your friends, we can take up to 5 people in our jet boat.

Email us to reserve your spot. It’s really good for busy weekends. You can get away from the crowds.

Getting Ready for Summer Season 2010 Early

Women’s camp’s dates are picked.

This summer we are going to have 1 women’s camp each month.

Report from Our Women’s Day on Ceralvo Island

Wanting to help raise some money for the school during the event here in La Ventana, Laura Mayer and i decided to organize a women only day at Ceralvo Island as a clinic during the La Ventana Classics event.

Only 4 men were allowed on the trip, our 2 captains, Yoyo and Yony, and 2 photographers, Peter Paul Porter and Paul Lang from the Kiteboarder Magasine. 16 women joined us on the trip and it was a blast.

Early morning we all loaded in the pongas and my little speedster and headed for the Island. 10 minutes into the trip Yony spotted 2 whales. The ladies all asked how I organized for the whales to be there . We followed them for a little while until they disappeared under water. Right away a pod of dolphins showed up and hung out with us. It was an awesome wild life show for almost an hour. What a treat, our photographers even got it all on camera. What a good way to start the day!

Then we headed to the Island and unloaded all the gear we had. Tonnes of North and Slingshot kites and boards. Lots for our girls to demo. Tim at Palapas Ventana hooked us up with a great lunch and we splitted the girls up into different clinics. How to ride, go upwind and some on advance tricks. Then we headed for the water. The wind was pretty light but still good to get out and have some fun. The day went by so fast, before we knew it it was time to go back. Some of the girls wanted to ride back across, with the light winds it was pretty challenging, nobody made it all the way to shore but all got picked up by the boats where beers ware waiting for them. Dd rode the party couch all the way back, what a trooper you can see her on the pictures holding on for dear life for the whole 11 miles crossing.

What an awesome day and it ended with Happy Hour at Baja Joe’s. The boys had set up an awesome bar for us with the best strawberry margaritas. Even if it was a girls day, the boys had a big part of it ! Thanks to Mark, Jonny and Robin for setting us up and everyone else that was involved with it. We raised $450 for the local schools.

We all had so much fun. Everyone wants to do it again.Next year, let’s double that, tell all your lady friends we will do it again for sure. Thanks Ladies for coming and being a part of it ! It was an experience that we will not forget.
