This summer’s girls camps have been so much fun. It is amazing to see how fast the girls learned while having such a good time.
This camp was a 3 day camp. On the first day we paddle Robin’s little dingy across the river to get away from the long weekend croud. We founds the nicest and only sandy beach around Nitinaht Lake. Most of the girls had never flown a trainer kite before so we spent the first little while flying it, then moved on to a small inflatable kite and went over kite control and safety. By the end of the day, all the girls were ready for the water but also starving and tired from the nice sunny day of kite flying.
On day 2 it was all body drags. The weather was nice and really warm. All the girls spent a bunch of time flying the kite while dragging down the lake. All that while working on some important skills.
The 3rd day was the biggest one. We all went for a super long downwinder. We took all 6 girls up the lake to a little launch spot and sent them all on their way. It was so nice to see all the kites going down the lake at once. The girls did so good as it was their first time with the board for most of them and all did the whole run with no board leash and just 2 of us looking after them. And I forgot to mention it was blowing 25knots. To all the girls that were there good work and thanks for coming and making it so fun. I hope to see you all again on the water soon.
